 This is THE BIG ONE for all FIFA RTWC 98 fans! Simply the BEST! EVER! The FIFA RTWC Update is BACK with the most massive update EVER! And this time I really mean it since the Speech upgrade and the data update has been merged into one big file. This means the download is about 24MB in size, but it is definately worth the download! If you install this file you don't need to install any earlier speech upgrades, it's all in here! I am so sorry that it took so long to release this update, but better late than never, right? So now at last, I would like to present to you The Official FIFA RTWC Update 4.0 – World Cup Edition. ALL teams that participated in the FIFA World Cup 2002 have been completely updated based on their looks and squads in the real competition! Better player attributes, new player looks, the correct squads and new kits has been included for all the World Cup teams and real team management has been done for most teams including all the teams that made it to the second round. Along with the new kits there are new adboards, new shorts and new socks in this release that I hope you all will appreciate. In this update I haven’t updated much of the club teams, they’re pretty much the same as in version 3.7. Hopefully I will be able to make a new release soon that updates also club teams. The goal that I had when I started with this update was to update every single team in the game. This far the UEFA, the CONMEBOL, the CONCACAF, the Swedish, Italian, English and Spanish leagues along with other top clubs from around the world are completely updated with accurate squads, kits and attributes based on stats from Championship Manager 01/02. New European and American teams has been added, all not yet fully updated though, but they will be eventually. This update also includes LOTS of new realistic kits, three colored striped shorts, three colored striped socks and sleeves that make the game look much better. There are also new adboards, new turfs and a new goal that looks much deeper and realistic than the original one. All goalies have updated stats to make their play more realistic. You can replay the Champions league final, play your own Serie A, La Liga or Premier league season, play lots of exciting friendlies and more! This update also includes the REAL WORLD CUP QUALIFYING GROUPS for Europe and South America with completely updated squads for all participating teams! Now it is possible to see if YOU have got what it takes to take your country to the 2002 World Cup! All speech and flags for national teams are now correct. All teams in England, Spain and Italy are completely updated for the 2001-2002 season with correct squads and squad numbers including speech for teams and top goalscorers (check Note 1). Some of the other updated teams, sadly, now doesn't have full squads because of that I haven't had the time to update all teams in this release. However all teams available for league play have complete squads so that should not be a problem. I
have also tried to correct the unrealistic scoring lists when you play in a
league. Note 1: Now the top scorer list should consist mostly of forwards. There is a small bug because of this though, making some of your players "score 2 goals" when they score a goal. This can be solved if you, when you have started a new league or RTWC and chosen which team to play, go in to the trade player alternatively national squad pick screen and look at your squad. If a player (or players) in your team appear twice, remove one of him from the squad and there will be no bug. In a club team do this by trading the player to Free Transfer 4 in the ROW-league.
Note 2: I see the work on this update much as
a team work. To make it possible for me to update the teams that I don't
know just about anything about I need help. This help has to come from YOU
GUYS!!!
If you want a team included or
updated just send me info on that team to fifa@fifartwc.cjb.net or
post it in the forum. You could also provide me with links to sites that
has all the info in english and the same page. "But what do I get from doing all this work?", you might ask. Well,
you get a better and better game and it really isn't that much work...
Think about that I have to do this work for every team in the game...

| This one is an old one I did back in 1998/99 with very accurately updated World Cup teams with all 22 player squads and all team management as the teams used in the cup. It also updates all leagues with correct rosters. Some very good looking new kits included also. Note that this has effects on the ingame editor which crashes if you try to edit a team with these kits. No attribute update though, except for new players. This is a real goodie for those of you who want to relive the thrill of the 98 World Cup! | ||

the Official Update Version 2.1, that are availible for commentary,
are commented!
